Teaming up with New Era, Jerry Lorenzo’s Fear of God provided an in-depth look at the special capsule 1987 Collection earlier this month. An homage to the Boston Celtics, the team’s familiar green and white theme could be seen throughout the lineup, comprised of jerseys, satin coaches jackets, hoodies, as well as a pair of high top basketball sneakers. To kick-off the collection, a pop-up shop was held at the Back Door Bottega in Bologna, Italy (also known as “Basketball City”) over the weekend. In the images above, we see the store moments before the opening, complete with Celtics’ and other vintage sports-related memorabilia reminiscent of The Garden in 1987. Later, throngs of people lined up outside of the upscale sneaker store for a chance to cop the limited items and also meet Jerry Lorenzo himself. With his family and friends by his side.
A limited run of the basketball sneakers and select items from the capsule will be available on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Back Door’s website.
